About Alan

Alan O’Mara is the Founder of Real Talks and a Mental Performance Coach with a proven track record at the highest levels of sport. Through high-impact coaching and workshops, he has helped championship-winning teams on both sides of the Atlantic build resilient, connected cultures that perform under pressure.

He has also experienced success in elite sport as an athlete, head coach, and player development specialist with the Gaelic Players Association. In 2013, Alan became a national trailblazer in Ireland as the first active inter-county Gaelic footballer to publicly speak about depression; a decision that helped transform the conversation around mental health in sport. He is also the author of the best-selling memoir The Best Is Yet To Come.

Originally from Ireland, Alan now lives in Pennsylvania with his wife, Mary Kate Boylan, where he works with programs across youth, collegiate, and elite sport to develop mental performance.
